Yulong Guo Soloist Classical Guitar

The Yulong Guo soloist Classical Guitar is a concert-level classical guitar by acclaimed Chinese luthier, Yulong Guo. The back and sides are Indian rosewood. The top is German spruce. The soundboard has a double-top design, similar to the one invented by Matthias Dammann in Germany in the late 1980s. This top consists of two super thin layers of wood, with a Nomex honeycombed structure between the tops. It has a Spanish cedar neck, ebony fingerboard, bridge and arm guard. The scale length is 650mm. The width at the nut is 52mm, and the width at the 12th fret is 62mm. The tuners are by Der Jung. A side port, with removable cover, has been installed to enhance the listening pleasure of the player. The bridge has a 12-hole design. This is a stunningly beautiful guitar, with more than ample volume, and a very full, rich sound. The quality of workmanship and the sound produced by this guitar compare favorably with concert instruments costing much more. An exclusive white fiberglass hard-shell case is included in the price. Note: the guitar in the demo videos is the cedar top version.

Product Availability:  The spruce top version of this model is currently in stock. Mr. Guo has discontinued the Soloist model in favor of the more expensive Chamber Concert model. The spruce top model in our inventory is the last of its kind.

The Soloist is an excellent choice for either a very serious hobbyist or solo concert performer. The hardshell case is great for most situations requiring local traveling. The sound of the live instrument surpasses any recording I have heard on the Internet. The projection is simply great. The tone has two distinctive qualities. It is both mellow and it also provides high-end harmonics. The lightest touch is all that is required to provide moving dynamics and beautiful tone. Playing the strings heavier will fill an auditorium with sound. Simply a choice instrument for the solo player.

These are truly beautiful guitars and they have taken my son's and my playing to a new level. The cedar top has wonderful resonance in the bass strings and sounds fabulous when playing traditional repertoire. The spruce top has a haunting tone that gives a new dimension to more contemporary music. We had difficulty deciding which one to purchase, so we got both!!
